From
adopting military units to Operation Uplink
telephone cards, the VFW Post 7788 strives to enhance
the quality of life for members of the armed forces
and their families worldwide by identifying critical
needs and providing emergency financial aid.
Care Packages for the
Troops
The
VFW 7788 is conducting an ongoing donation drive to
send care packages to the troops. We periodically issue
press releases to remind the community how much our
troops appreciate all of the support their community
and the nation have given them. We ofter receive thank
you's from parents saying how much it meant to their
son or daughter to receives these packages, or how much
they enjoyed receiving a particular item.
Operation Uplink
The
VFW 7788 has conducting several fundraisers to provide
our troops with phone cards so that their support here
is only a phone call away. With our Poker Runs, Dinner/Dances
and basket raffles, VFW Post 7788 has raised over $5,000
for phone cards. We continue to donate to this
very worthy cause through our various events and activities.
Military Assistance (MAP)
Established
more than three years ago, the VFW's Military Assistance
Program (MAP) is a quality of life initiative that focuses
on easing the financial emergencies of deploying service
members and supporting them and their family through
the hardships of deployment. MAP also provides one-time
grants up to $500 to service members needing emergency
financial assistance. In addition, MAP has forged partnership
with various service providers, aimed at providing the
transitioning service member with relocation and employment
assistance.
